SUMMARY:Hidden History of Portsmouth with Glenn Knoblock (virtual)
DESCRIPTION:One of New Hampshire’s oldest towns\, Portsmouth has always been known for its historical sites. And yet\, there is more to Portsmouth than meets the eye\, and more history to be discovered than can be told on the city’s many historic markers. The houses on the The Hill only hint at the historic neighborhood that once existed in the northern part of town\, while the Portsmouth African Burying Ground Memorial points to an extensive history that dates back over 375 years. Of course\, maritime\, and naval history abounds here\, while St. John’s and North Church are representative of a religious history that stretches far back in time. \n Please contact the library for links to all the virtual events.
