Friends of the Library

Friend the Library by becoming a member of our Friends Group, The Friends of the Kensington Public Library. The Friends of the Library is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to supporting one of Kensington’s greatest assets: its library. KPL uses the money generated by the Friends’ activities to pay for needed items and programs not covered by our operating budget. Recently, for example, the Friends have purchased furniture and equipment, summer reading program prizes, our sidewalk sign, and more.

If you value libraries and want to help enrich the Kensington community, then “Friend” us. Annual membership in the Friends is only $10.00 per family! For more information, read theFriends Brochure, fill out the contact information, and return it to the Library with your $10.00 payment.

Since its inception in 1963, the Friends of the Kensington Public Library have responded to the library’s changing needs by organizing fund-raising projects and sponsoring diverse educational and cultural programs.

All Kensington residents interested in supporting the Library and its programs are welcome to become Friends. Application forms are available here.
